The Area
Belek stretches along the coast approximately 40 kilometres east of Antalya. It was first developed as a purpose-built resort in 1984 and has been carefully planned to make the most of its stunning natural environment. It has won international recognition for its environmentally-friendly development and is the perfect retreat for nature-lovers, who will be entranced by its flora and fauna, with many rare species. It is also home to many different types of birds, many of which are unique to the area. The village centres of Kadriye and Belek offer many services such as shops, exchange offices, bars and restaurants. Belek is also within an easy 'dolmus' or taxi ride of the bustling city of Antalya, and not far from the ancient historic sites of Aspendos, Perge and Side. In short, Belek offers something for everyone!!

Golfing in Belek
Turkey is becoming a golfer's paradise with the resort of Belek the most popular by far with international golfers. The Mediterranean resort is already home to five world class golf courses and five more are in the planning and development stages and Turkey is beginning to rival the Algarve for the numbers of golfing tourists in received annually.

Belek is Turkey’s premier golf resort but it offers so much more than its international championship courses. For a start, it is set on a beautiful long stretch of golden sandy beach, rivaling the best to be found anywhere in the Mediterranean. The seawater is clear and warm, with a mixture of pebbles and sand on the seabed. The Belek hotels are situated in extensive grounds along the magnificent beach and are almost resorts in their own right, ideal for families, couples and groups alike, as they offer not only excellent standards of service but also a full range of activities and entertainment for total relaxation.

Antalya
The nearest large city to Belek is Antalya, with a population nearing 1 million people. Antalya is a world apart with its long summers, mild winters, unpolluted waters and sandy beaches. The top of Toros and Bay mountains remain smow-covered even during the hot seasons, and are perfectly complemented by the inviting warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

It's the pearl of Mediterranean. Combining history and culture it deserves the title of "capital of Turkish tourism". Kaleici - where quaint Turkish and Greek houses are under protection - is the most popular area of Antalya. Traces of Byzantine, Roman and Seljuk architecture and culture can still be seen in the rustic old town. Take time to visit the archaelogical museum, which houses finds belonging to all the historic ages of Anatolia.

Outside the city, the Konyaalti and Lara coasts invite you to their crystal clear waters.

Their are many prominent historical sites accessible on daily tours - such as Side, Perge, Manavgat and Alanya. It's a must to add the Kursunlu and Duden waterfalls to your list. Blue voyagers may set their sails to Phaselis, Olympos, Adrasan and Kekova.
